The Jones Gallery, located in the heart of Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District, invites you to enter our September Call-For-Entry.


Art Show Dates

Wednesday, September 4th - Thursday, September 26th


50/50 Sales Benefit

All proceeds of sales will go 50/50 in support of both the artists and Crossroads Community Association.


Thursday Private Artist Reception

Thursday, September 5th

5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Catered food and drinks will be provided.


First Friday Art Show 

Friday , September 6th, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Rules for Participation

Theme & Eligibility

"Capture Kansas City"

The theme for our September Group  Art Show is to capture what you think makes Kansas City so special.


This is an open art show to artists and photographers 18 years of age or older.  All artwork must be for sale and the original creation of the submitting artist or photographer.

 

Artists wanting to enter the jury selection process may submit up to 5 images to be reviewed. 


NOTE: Previous acceptance into one of our Art Shows DOES NOT constitute acceptance into future shows.

Entry Fee

A non-refundable entry fee is required before being entered into the jury-in selection process.


$27 plus tax


Upon payment, you will receive an email from Oz.JonesGallery@gmail.com (within 24 hours) that includes a simple registration form to submit your art for the selection process.


NOTE: Payment DOES NOT guarantee acceptance into the First Friday Art Show as we may receive more entries than gallery spaces available.

Selection Process

STEP ONE - Pay CFA entry fee for the month of September.


STEP TWO - Submit digital photos of your art for the jury-in selection process.


STEP THREE - Jones Gallery staff will select the artists to be included in September Group Art Show.


STEP FOUR- You will be notified by email of your acceptance into the art show


NOTE: Based on the size of your original art submitted, gallery will choose a maximum of (3) originals to display for the show you have selected.

Art Display Options

Art or photography displayed at the gallery in the past year will not be accepted.


 Gallery may select up to a maximum of 3 originals to exhibit during the September Group Art Show

3rd Floor - Fine Art


NOTE: Art MUST be wired in back ready to hang.

Submitting Images of Art

All images need to be in the JPEG format and can not exceed 5MB.


Images MUST show the entire original artwork but DO NOT need to be cropped to remove the frame or background.


Although we're not here to judge the  photography of your artwork and Photoshop cropping skills, it is recommended you spend some time to provide a quality photograph of your art when submitting.

Crossroads Community Association

Exhibit Dates

Wednesday, September 4th to Thursday, September 26th


Funds from the exhibit will go to the CCA Clean + Safe Program


An integral aspect of keeping the Crossroads clean and safe is the removal of graffiti quickly at a reasonable cost. The CCA Clean + Safe Initiative is two-fold.

  1. The short-term goal is a self-sustaining graffiti removal and surveillance program to both remove graffiti and catch those in the act of tagging.
  2. The long-term goal is to establish a CID (Community Improvement District) to further enhance the Clean + Safe program to tackle other common issues in our neighborhood such as litter, homelessness and crime.


Even if you don’t have a problem with graffiti, please consider helping the entire community stay clean and safe by enrolling in the program and/or making a donation.

Thursday Private Artist Reception

Thursday, September 5th, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

The Crossroads Community Association are inviting businesses in the Crossroads to attend a private catered event to meet the artists and shop for art. Food and drinks will be provided while supplies last. 

First Friday Group Art Show

Friday, September 6th, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm 

If possible, please bring some refreshments and/or appetizers to share with the public. Wine, beer, pop, or water in coolers is acceptable too. The gallery has tables set up along the west wall and provides plates, cups and napkins.

50/50 Sales Benefit

All proceeds of art sales will go 50/50 in support of both the artists and the foundation. 


To increase the likelihood of selling your art, it is highly recommended that selected artists or their representative be present during the Thursday Private Artist Reception and First Friday Art Show.


Art purchased through the gallery may be taken by the patron at the time of payment.


Artists are notified by email of the sale and should have art ready to replace the sold piece at their earliest convenience. Out of state artists are not required to replace any sold art.

Local Artwork Delivery and Pick Up

All art must be labeled on the back with artist’s name, title, media, price, and best way to be contacted.

Art Pick-Up Dates & Times:

  • Friday, September 27th - (11:00 am to 7:00 pm)
  • Saturday, September 28th - (11:00 am to 5:00 pm)

Insurance and Liability

The Jones Gallery will exercise extreme care in handling all artwork, but will not assume any liability for loss or damage while on display in the Jones Gallery or during shipping. It is the artist's responsibility to independently insure their own work.
 

Artists accepted to the show give the Jones Gallery permission to use their submitted images or photographed images of their work on display in the gallery for promotional purposes.


Artists not delivering their art in the required time frame, without contacting the gallery, will be disqualified from this show with no refund.


Without special arrangements, any work not picked up in 30 days, from last day of show, will be donated to a charity of the Jones Gallery's choice.
