Plein Air Call-For-Artists

The Jones Gallery, in partnership with the Crossroads Community Association, invites you to enter our July Plein Air Call-For-Artists.


All proceeds of sales, from the September Benefit Art Show, will go 50/50 in support of both the artists and the Crossroads Community Association.


Funds from the exhibit will go the the CCA Clean + Safe Program

Rules for Participation

Eligibility

This is an open art show for plein air artists 18 years of age or older.  All artwork created must be for sale and the original creation of the submitting artist


This Call-For-Artists is only open to plein air  artists in all mediums and styles. 


Artists wanting to enter the jury selection process may submit up to 5 images of their plein air art or their website to be reviewed. 


NOTE: Previous acceptance into one of our Art Shows DOES NOT constitute acceptance into future shows.

Entry Fee

A non-refundable entry fee is required before being entered into the jury-in selection process.


$37 plus tax


Upon payment, you will receive an email from Oz.JonesGallery@gmail.com (within 24 hours) that includes a simple registration form to submit your art or website for the selection process.


NOTE: Payment DOES NOT guarantee acceptance into the "Capture the Crossroads" plein air event as we may receive more entries than the 24 spaces available.

Selection Process

STEP ONE - Pay CFA entry fee for the July plein air event.


STEP TWO - Submit digital photos of your art or a link to your website for the jury-in selection process.


STEP THREE - Jones Gallery staff will select the artists to be included in the July ple air event and September benefit group  art show.


STEP FOUR- You will be notified by email of your acceptance.


NOTE: Accepted artists will paint 1 original during the plein air event in July and exhibit on the first floor of the gallery during the September Benefit Art Show.

Art Display Options

Art displayed at the gallery MUST be created during the plein air event from July.

  • Exhibit 1 original from the July plein air event.
  • Plein Air Art Show is on the 1st floor of the gallery.


NOTE: Art MUST be framed and wired in back ready to hang.

Submitting Images of Art

All images need to be in the JPEG format and can not exceed 5MB.


Images MUST show the entire original artwork but DO NOT need to be cropped to remove the frame or background.


Although we're not here to judge the  photography of your artwork and Photoshop cropping skills, it is recommended you spend some time to provide a quality photograph of your art when submitting.

Crossroads Community Association Fundraiser

All works of art, from the July plein air event, will be on display at the gallery from Tuesday, September 3rd through Thursday, September 26th.


First Friday Artist Reception is June 7th from 5 pm to 9 pm.

First Friday in the Crossroads Arts Distrist

Local Artists:

If possible, please bring some refreshments and/or appetizers to share with the public. Wine, beer, pop, or water in coolers is acceptable too. The gallery has tables set up along the west wall and provides plates, cups and napkins.


National Artists:

The Crossroads Arts District is packed with happening art galleries in restored warehouses. Hip coffee bars, brewpubs, BBQ joints and retro-styled bars dot the area, along with independent shops selling fashion, and handcrafted jewelry. At monthly First Friday events, art shows and food trucks draw big crowds. 

50/50 Sales Benefit

All proceeds of art sales will go 50/50 in support of both the artists and the foundation. 


Patrons interested in purchasing art, during the month long art show, will pay Crossroads Community Association directly. The nonprofit will pay the artist within 15 days of the conclusion of the art show. 

 

To increase the likelihood of selling your art, it is highly recommended that selected artists or their representative be present during the First Friday Artist Reception. 


Art purchased through the gallery may be taken by the patron at the time of payment.


Artists are notified by email of the sale and should have art ready to replace the sold piece at their earliest convenience. Out of state artists are not required to replace any sold art.

Artwork Delivery and Pick Up

All art must be labeled on the back with artist’s name, title, media, price, and best way to be contacted.


NOTE: Art MUST be wired in back ready to hang.

  • Friday, August 30th - (11am to 7pm)
  • Saturday, August 31st - (11am to 5pm)


Pick Up Dates & Times:

  • Friday, September 27th - (11am to 7pm)
  • Saturday, September 28th - (11am to 5pm)

Insurance and Liability

The Jones Gallery will exercise extreme care in handling all artwork, but will not assume any liability for loss or damage while on display in the Jones Gallery or during shipping. It is the artist's responsibility to independently insure their own work.
 

Artists accepted to the show give the Jones Gallery permission to use their submitted images or photographed images of their work on display in the gallery for promotional purposes.


Artists not delivering their art in the required time frame, without contacting the gallery, will be disqualified from this show with no refund.


Without special arrangements, any work not picked up in 30 days, from last day of show, will be donated to a charity of the Jones Gallery's choice.
