May Group Art Show
Rules for Participating
This is a national art show open to artists and photographers 18 years of age or older. All artwork must be for sale and the original creation of the submitting artist or photographer.
No reproductions of original paintings or drawings are allowed.
NOTE: Previous acceptance into one of our Art Shows DOES NOT constitute acceptance into future shows.
A non-refundable entry fee is required before being entered into the jury selection process.
$30 for 5 Entries
Artists wanting to enter the jury selection process may submit up to 5 images to be reviewed.
NOTE: Payment DOES NOT guarantee acceptance into the Group Art Show as we may receive more entries than gallery spaces available.
Artists may apply for the Group Art Show at two locations online.

NOTE: Based on the size of your original art submitted, gallery will choose a maximum of (3) originals to display for the show you have selected.
Art Display Options
Art or photography displayed at the gallery in the past year will not be accepted.
The gallery will jury 0, 1, 2 or a maximum of 3 pieces to exhibit during the Group Art Show.
Maximum Size Artwork Display Area:
- 48″ width x 72″ height
NOTE: Art MUST be wired on the back ready to hang.
Submitting Images of Art
All images need to be in the JPEG format and can not exceed 5MB.
Images MUST show the entire original artwork but DO NOT need to be cropped to remove the frame or background.
Although we’re not here to judge the photography of your artwork and Photoshop cropping skills, it is recommended you spend some time to provide a quality photograph of your art when submitting.

Group Art Show Dates:
- Wednesday, May 3rd - Thursday, May 25th
First Friday in the Crossroads Arts District
Jones Gallery is in a 100-year-old historically registered warehouse building with 9000 square feet of display space. Located in the Kansas City Crossroads Arts District. A Nationally recognized area of new and restored buildings housing art galleries, studios, theater, live music, along with acclaimed restaurants.
We request that only local artists be present during the First Friday’s artist’s reception. If you are unable to do so we understand but try your best to be present.
NOTE: 75% of sales go to the artist.
Art purchased through the gallery may be taken by the patron at the time of payment.
Artists are notified by email of the sale and should have art ready to replace the sold piece at their earliest convenience. Out of state artists are not required to replace any sold art.
Local Artwork Delivery & Pick Up
Artists must make up two tags for each piece, one to put on the back of the artwork and one to put up on the wall.
Both tags need to be no larger than 3.5″ x 5″ and labeled with the following:

- Friday, April 28th – (11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
- Saturday, April 29th – (11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
Pick-Up Dates & Times:
- Friday, May 26th – (11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
- Saturday, May 27th – (11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
National Artwork Shipping & Return
Artist shipping in their work may do it any time after being selected up to the Saturday, May 27th due date.
Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance (during shipping) of artworks.
NOTE: ALL SHIPPED ARTWORK MUST INCLUDE A RETURN PREPAID SHIPPING LABEL
NOTE: FedEx is the gallery preferred courier although UPS and USPS will be accepted, all with included return prepaid shipping labels.
We do not accept any wooden crates or boxes that cannot be reused to return back the artwork. Artwork must be shipped in strong, reusable cartons or crates with no free-floating Styrofoam or popcorn packing. Packing material must be reusable for return shipping.
All art must be labeled on the back with artist’s name, title, media, price, and best way to be contacted.
NOTE: Any artwork not wired and ready for installation WILL NOT be accepted.
Unsold artwork will be returned by the Jones Gallery to the artist within two weeks following the closing date of the exhibition in accordance with prepaid labels.
Jones Gallery will not accept postage stamps, credit card numbers, or shipping accounts for return of artwork, nor will Jones Gallery staff take artwork to the post office or anywhere else to be weighed, measured, or pay for shipping.
Jones Gallery is not responsible for return of any artwork if shipping label is not prepaid.
Insurance & Liability
The Jones Gallery will exercise extreme care in handling all artwork, but will not assume any liability for loss or damage while on display in the Jones Gallery or during shipping. It is the artist’s responsibility to independently insure their own work.
Artists accepted to the show give the Jones Gallery permission to use their submitted images or photographed images of their work on display in the gallery for promotional purposes.
Artists not delivering their art in the required time frame, without contacting the gallery, will be disqualified from this show with no refund.
NOTE: Art work not picked up within 30 days from the shows closing will be donated to charity. It is not the responsibility of the Jones Gallery to contact the artist to come pick up their work.
